Hey! It’s me,

My name is Candace Alberda and I am the face behind the lens based in Edmonton, Alberta. Let me tell you a bit about me… I love to read, I am an avid movie watcher, I have a “mini” Great Dane named Penny, I love to travel near and far, and my favourite food is cheese - it’s just the best. I have been to Europe twice and I can not get enough. Before Covid really struck, I got to watch one of my best friends get married in Hawaii and a week later I got engaged! So Hawaii holds a special place in my heart. On my bucket list of places to go are Australia, Croatia, Iceland, Nova Scotia, and Tofino.

I am a full time Registered Nurse in the operating room. I have learned a great deal from being a nurse and I have been able to see life at all stages. I get to care for people in their most vulnerable state, I have seen babies born and take their first breath, I have witnessed the work of surgeons saving patients lives from the front row as I pass them their instruments, I have seen loss and grief, and I have seen the love and support of family members as they leave their mother, daughter, or sister in our care. Nursing has taught me that life is precious and no matter what, we can not take a single day for granted.

My passion for photography started years ago, however I decided to pursue my passion in 2020. One of my favourite things to do as a child was to take out my parents and grandparents photo albums and go through all the photos. I love to see how things change over time and how people change. Photography now compared to the photos I used to look at do not even compare. The amount of emotion and the style of photos in this day and age is beyond anything I could have imagined. That is why I love photography. It is diverse and unique to each photographer. For me, my goal is to be able to add more of those warm and moody tones into the industry. This was something that I noticed was lacking in and around my area when I was searching for my own photographer for my 2022 wedding. It was not easy to find someone that had this distinct look that I desired and I want to be able to fill that void.

I love when images create a story that capture the emotion of the characters. I want to be there to witness the magic as it happens and I would love to be the person to do that for you!

Did I mention… I love to travel? I will follow you around the globe if it means I get to capture your love story.
